Age Limit Details (As on 01/07/2026)

  • Minimum Age:21 Years (as on 01.07.2026).
  • Maximum Age:40 Years (for General / Unreserved candidates).
  • SC / ST / OBC (U.P. Domicile): Relaxation of 5 Years in upper age limit.
  • Permanent U.P. Govt Employees: Relaxation up to 5 Years for candidates with at least 3 years regular service.
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD): Maximum relaxation of 15 Years.
  • Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation of 3 Years after deducting entire military service from actual age.
  • Other State Candidates: Treated as Unreserved (General) and age limit of 21–40 years applies.

Educational Qualification & Hospital Experience Criteria

  • Option 1 (Degree Route):
    • B.Sc Nursing (4-year course) from an Indian Nursing Council (INC) / State Medical Faculty recognized Institute or University.
    OR B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic - 2 year course) from an INC recognized institute.
    • Must be registered as a Nurse & Midwife in State / Indian Nursing Council.
    (Fresh B.Sc Nursing candidates can apply; experience is not mandatory for degree holders).
  • Option 2 (Diploma Route):
    • Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (G.N.M.) from an INC recognized Institute/Board/Council.
    • Registered as a Nurse & Midwife in State / Indian Nursing Council.
    Mandatory Hospital Experience: Minimum 02 (Two) years of work experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital after acquiring the GNM qualification.

Selection Process & CBT Examination Scheme

  • Computer Based Test (CBT): The written exam consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) carrying 100 total marks.
  • Question Weightage:80% Questions will assess Theoretical Nursing Knowledge and 20% Questions will test Practical Clinical Skills.
  • Medium of Exam: Question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English). (In case of ambiguity, the English version will be treated as final).
  • Negative Marking:0.25 (1/4th) mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. No marks are deducted for unattempted questions.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks:
    • General, OBC, and EWS Candidates: Minimum 40% Marks
    • SC and ST Candidates: Minimum 35% Marks
  • Tie-Breaking Rule: When two or more candidates secure equal CBT marks, the older candidate in age will be placed higher in merit.
  • Stage 2 & 3: Shortlisted candidates undergo Biometric & Document Verification, followed by a Medical Examination before formal appointment.
