ITBP Medical Officer Vacancy 2026: Directorate General, Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has issued an official notification for the recruitment of Group 'A' Combatised Medical Officers in Central Armed Police Forces (BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB) and Assam Rifles. Educational Qualification & Experience (As on 08.09.2026)

  • Super Specialist Medical Officer (2IC):
    • MBBS or equivalent from a recognized institution included in the First Schedule of IMC Act 1956.
    • Enrolled in State Medical Register / permanent registration with MCI/NMC.
    • Completion of compulsory rotating internship.
    • Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in related Specialty + DM or M.Ch. or equivalent in concerned Super-Specialty.
    • Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in the concerned Super-Specialty after obtaining the first PG degree (Senior Residency period counts towards experience).
  • Specialist Medical Officer (Deputy Commandant):
    • Recognized medical qualification (Allopathic system) included in the IMC Act 1956 + permanent MCI/NMC/State Medical Council registration.
    • Completion of compulsory rotating internship.
    • Post Graduate (PG) Degree or Diploma in the concerned specialty.
    • Experience: Minimum 1.5 years' experience after obtaining PG Degree OR 2.5 years' experience after obtaining PG Diploma in the concerned specialty.
  • Medical Officer (Assistant Commandant):
    • Recognized MBBS qualification included in the IMC Act 1956 + permanent registration with MCI/NMC/State Medical Council before appointment.
    • Completion of compulsory rotating internship. (Candidates currently undergoing rotating internship are also eligible to apply & appear for interview provided they complete it before appointment).

Selection Process & Physical Standard Test (PST)

  1. Documentation: Verification of original academic certificates, internship completion, council registration, and caste/EWS certificates.
  2. Interview (200 Marks): Testing general knowledge, academic ability, personality, and leadership. Minimum qualifying marks: 40% (80 Marks out of 200) for all categories.
  3. Physical Standard Test (PST): Conducted for candidates qualifying the interview:
