Short Information:

PM YASASVI Scholarship 2026: Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, is implementing the PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India (PM-YASASVI) . Under the Central Sector Scheme of Top Class Education in Schools component, financial grant is provided to meritorious students belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC), and De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT) categories . Students studying from Class 9 onwards up to Class 12 in shortlisted Top Class Schools (TCSs) with a household annual income of less than Rs. 2.50 Lakhs are eligible . The assistance covers full tuition fee, hostel fee, and other school charges up to Rs. 75,000/- p.a. for Class 9 & 10 and Rs. 1,25,000/- p.a. for Class 11 & 12 directly disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) .

Eligibility Criteria & Conditions

  • Category Requirement: Student must belong to Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC), or De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT) .
  • Household Income Limit: Gross annual family income from all sources must be less than Rs. 2.50 Lakhs (Rs. 2,50,000/-) .
  • School Requirement: Student must be studying in a recognized Top Class School (TCS) shortlisted by the Selection Committee (consisting of JS (BC), NITI Aayog, and Dept. of School Education representatives) . Shortlisted schools include public (Central/State/Local Body), aided, or private schools with 100% pass records in 10th and 12th board exams .
  • Previous Class Marks: Applicants must apply on NSP along with the marks obtained in the final examination of the previous class .
  • Bank Account: Student must possess an active Aadhaar-seeded Bank Account for receiving funds directly via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) .
  • One Scheme Rule: Students assisted under this scheme shall not be eligible for assistance under any other Government scheme for the same items/purpose .

Selection Procedure & Merit List Generation

  1. OBC/EBC/DNT students studying in identified Top Class Schools apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) .
  2. Online verification of applications is conducted by the Nodal Officer of the concerned school .
  3. Confirmed online verification is carried out by the respective State Government Nodal Officer .
  4. A State-wise merit list is prepared for each class separately for boys and girls based on the marks obtained in the final exam of the previous class .
  5. Scholarships are automatically allocated on the basis of merit order within the State's sanctioned quota slots .

  • Aadhaar Card of the Student / Parent.
  • Category Certificate (OBC / EBC / DNT issued by competent revenue authority).
  • Income Certificate (Showing annual household income less than Rs. 2.5 Lakhs).

How to Apply Online for PM YASASVI Scholarship 2026

  1. Visit the official National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at scholarships.gov.in .
  2. Complete One Time Registration (OTR) by providing Aadhaar number and basic details to generate NSP OTR ID.
  3. Log in to the portal using your OTR ID and Password.
  4. Under "Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment", select "PM YASASVI Top Class Education in Schools for OBC, EBC and DNT Students" .
  5. Fill out the application form with academic marks of the previous class, school details, and bank account information .
