*Note: During the second year of apprenticeship training, there will be an increase of 10% in the prescribed minimum stipend. Candidates with higher qualifications (Degree/Diploma/Engg) are NOT eligible, except for MLT.

Mode of Engagement & Domicile Eligibility Criteria

  • Merit Calculation: Selection merit list is prepared strictly based on the percentage of marks obtained in Standard X (Matriculation).
  • Tie-Breaking Criteria: In case of equal marks, the older candidate is preferred. If DOB is also identical, the candidate who passed Std X earlier will be ranked higher.
  • Domicile / Employment Exchange Requirement: Applicants who are residents of and/or registered with a local Employment Exchange in the State of Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply.
  • Railway Ward Exemption: The local employment exchange condition does NOT apply to wards of Railway employees (Identity Card / Service Certificate / UMID Card must be produced during DV).
  • Medical Standard: Selected candidates must produce a Medical Certificate in prescribed format issued by a Government Medical Officer (not below the rank of Asst. Surgeon).

  2. Click on the link "Apply for Act Apprentice 2026-27".
  3. Choose between "Freshers" or "Ex-ITI" category as per your qualification.
  4. Fill in your personal details, parent's name, community, address, and Standard X & ITI marks.
  5. Upload a recent passport-size photograph (JPG/JPEG format, size not exceeding 200 KB).
  6. Pay the processing fee of ₹100/- online (Exempted for SC/ST/PwBD/Women). Note the transaction ID starting with 'DU'.
  7. Submit the form before 07/09/2026 (17:30 Hrs) and download the system-generated acknowledgement form. (Login password is DOB in ddmmyyyy format).
